This is a printed version of a blog that I was working on at the same time — jmckinley.webandscreen.com I had a script running on my computer that would take captures of my screen every 15 minutes. This publication documents a month of captures.

This is an ongoing project that explores typographic fiction. For me this project is about exploring formal and spacial relationships of shape and color.
SPRING 2008
This is a series of five screenprinted posters. The purpose of the posters is to encourage people to live a more positive life. The posters were intended to be hung around the city and for them to provide a positive moment in the viewers life.
SPRING 2008
This project was to create type in a three dimensional form and place it in a fitting environment. The word “winter” was fitting for the season for obvious reasons. The letters were installed around Lake Calhoun on a warm spring day.
SPRING 2008
This is a screenprint promoting a section of the MCAD library. It was a five week project meant to explore the basic relationship of type and image. The process book acts as a narrative of the whole project including everything from type sketches and exploration of form to pencil sketches looking at composition.
FALL 2007
A collage illustration that I did for the UFO exhibition at MCAD. The collaged elements represent things that could be misconstrued as possible UFOs.

SPRING 2007
This is a sculpture that I did in a foundation 3D class. It represents tension in the way the bands wrap around the droplet in the air and the release of that tension on the droplet that has already hit the ground.
